De Zerbi Wants More Up Front Having already overhauled much of the squad this summer, De Zerbi is now focused on adding more pace, creativity and directness in attack. The Italian is said to want more than one new attacking face before the season starts, giving him the depth needed to compete on multiple fronts — which is why Spurs are continuing to track Summerville even as talks with City over Savinho carry on. Rather than waiting for one deal to fall through before exploring alternatives, Tottenham appear to be working several paths at once. Competition Heating Up for Summerville Any move for Summerville won’t be simple. The Dutch international has drawn interest from across Europe, with Manchester United and Roma both said to be monitoring him, while Fulham and Liverpool are also credited with interest domestically. That means Spurs may need to act fast if they want to push things forward. Earlier reports pegged Summerville’s price at around £30 million, making him a cheaper alternative to Savinho — but West Ham now appear to be holding out for more. Roma have reportedly had a second bid worth around £38 million rejected by the Hammers and are expected to come back with an improved offer, a sign West Ham are determined to get full value for one of their key attacking assets. Covering Every Base Tottenham’s approach seems straightforward: Savinho remains the priority and first-choice target, but Daniel Levy and the recruitment team are making sure there are solid alternatives in place in case the City talks stall or get too costly. By keeping Summerville in play, Spurs are guarding against the unpredictability that often comes with the final weeks of the window. Whichever winger they end up landing, strengthening the left flank remains one of the club’s top priorities before the new season begins.
