Ruben Amorim is not a top target for Tottenham if they appoint a new manager soon, sources told Football Insider.
A move for the former Manchester United boss is seen as “unlikely,” with his controversial exit from Old Trafford viewed as a “red flag” by Spurs’ leadership.
Tottenham are reportedly fast-tracking plans to potentially sack Thomas Frank, with Amorim mentioned as an outside candidate. However, the Portuguese coach is reluctant to rush back into management, especially in the Premier League, after leaving Manchester United on 6 January.
Amorim received a £10 million payout from United, but his tenure was marked by scrutiny over his tactics and a clash with recruitment chiefs Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada. This conflict, which he hinted at publicly after a Leeds draw on 4 January, has deterred Spurs from pursuing him.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are exploring other options. Crystal Palace may offer Frank the chance to manage them next season if Spurs dismiss him. Oliver Glasner, who guided Palace to FA Cup success and UEFA Conference League qualification, is also under consideration, and his impending departure could trigger a chain of managerial moves across London clubs, possibly even a direct swap involving Frank.
