🚨 FORGET RICHARLISON: Tottenham Star Could Already Be Regretting His Decision to Stay After De Zerbi’s SHOCK Comments

Tottenham Hotspur experienced a dramatic summer of change, completing one of the Premier League’s busiest transfer windows as new manager Roberto De Zerbi oversaw a major overhaul of his squad.

Spurs welcomed ten new players to North London, including Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali, Savio, Omar Marmoush, Tosin Adarabioyo and Mykhailo Mudryk. At the same time, several familiar faces left, with Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, Pape Matar Sarr, Luka Vuskovic and Guglielmo Vicario among those departing.

One of the biggest talking points, however, was Richarlison’s failure to secure a move away. The Brazilian forward attracted interest from Everton and Trabzonspor but ultimately remained at Tottenham. His situation has become even more difficult after he was left out of Spurs’ Premier League squad.

Richarlison may now regret turning down the opportunity to leave, although a return to Brazil or a potential move to Saudi Arabia could still be options in the future.

De Zerbi, though, appears unconcerned by the situation. The Tottenham boss believes Richarlison’s current position is largely the result of his own decisions after the striker repeatedly asked to leave during the transfer window.

Strengthening the attack was one of De Zerbi’s major priorities, and the surprise arrival of Mykhailo Mudryk could prove particularly significant. The Ukrainian winger previously worked under De Zerbi at Shakhtar Donetsk, where the manager famously backed him to become a future Ballon d’Or winner.

Despite Mudryk’s difficult spell since leaving Shakhtar, De Zerbi has refused to withdraw his belief in the player’s potential.

“We spent a very particular season together in Shakhtar,” De Zerbi said. “When the war started, we were together.

“And when I spoke about the Ballon d’Or, I was very clear. Maybe my English is not so good, but I was very clear because I was speaking about the potential of the player. The potential of the player can be the same and can respect the prediction or not.”

While those comments will excite Spurs supporters, they could spell bad news for Mathys Tel.

Tel’s Tottenham Future Suddenly Looks Uncertain

Since arriving from Bayern Munich 18 months ago, Tel has struggled to consistently demonstrate why he was regarded as one of Europe’s brightest young talents.

A lack of regular playing time and Tottenham’s poor form have made life difficult for the Frenchman, but he has also struggled to fully capitalise on the opportunities he has received.

Tel was linked with a departure during the latest transfer window, but he chose to remain at Spurs and compete for his place in De Zerbi’s squad.

He would have hoped that decision would lead to more opportunities this season. Instead, the arrival of Mudryk, Marmoush and Savio appears to have made his path into the starting XI even more difficult.

Tottenham also have Dejan Kulusevski and Mohammed Kudus capable of operating in wide areas once they return from their long-term injuries, while young talents such as Wilson Odobert and Luca Williams-Barnett are also competing for opportunities.

With Tottenham expected to play just one match per week for much of the season, Tel’s decision to remain at the club could become increasingly frustrating.

If his playing time remains limited, a fresh assessment of his future in January now looks increasingly likely.
