RICHARLISON has denied reports claiming he wants to leave Tottenham at the end of the season, responding angrily to the rumors on social media.
ESPN Brasil had suggested the Brazilian forward is considering leaving North London after the World Cup, with Flamengo, as well as clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, reportedly interested in signing him. Richarlison dismissed the story on Instagram, writing: “Who said that? F*** off.”
The 28-year-old has been linked with moves away from Spurs for several seasons. Last year, he revealed he turned down a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, stating: “The money is big but my dreams are bigger.” Tottenham initially considered selling him after signing him from Everton for £60million in 2022, as injuries and inconsistent performances had hindered his impact.
This season, however, Richarlison has been one of Thomas Frank’s most dependable players, contributing consistently both in playing time and goals. With Dominic Solanke sidelined for most of the season, he has largely led Spurs’ attack, featuring in 31 games and scoring eight goals so far.
The former Watford striker is likely to be part of Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad for the World Cup, boasting an impressive international record of 20 goals in 54 appearances. Most recently, he played 25 minutes against Bournemouth, but could not prevent Antoine Semenyo’s 95th-minute winner.
