Liverpool could be edging closer to finally securing Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with reports from France claiming the transfer saga may soon reach its conclusion.
According to L’Équipe and PSG-linked journalist Loïc Tanzi, Liverpool have narrowed the gap in negotiations with PSG and could be prepared to meet the French club’s latest valuation. The overall package could reportedly reach €140 million (£120 million) including add-ons.
PSG initially demanded around €170 million (£145 million) for the 23-year-old France international, while Liverpool’s previous offer of €117 million (£100 million) was rejected. However, negotiations over the past week are believed to have brought the two clubs much closer to an agreement.
Barcola is reportedly keen on a move to Anfield, with widespread reports suggesting the player has made Liverpool his preferred destination and is unlikely to cause any late problems.
Liverpool’s pursuit of a new attacking player to replace Mohamed Salah has lasted throughout the summer, and with the transfer deadline of September 1 approaching, the club may now be ready to make one final push.
If an agreement is reached over the fee and payment structure, Barcola could travel to Merseyside for his medical before completing the move and signing his contract with Liverpool.
