I hope I’m proven right” – Tottenham urged to support Thomas Frank with several late transfer additions

Tottenham have been urged to fully support head coach Thomas Frank during the final days of the January transfer window.

Former Everton, Aston Villa and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking to Football Insider, believes Frank will succeed at Spurs if he is given time and proper backing.

Pressure on the Dane intensified after a 2-2 draw with Burnley, which stretched Tottenham’s Premier League winless run to six matches. Talks were reportedly held about Frank’s future following a home defeat to West Ham, with sections of the fanbase already calling for his dismissal.

However, Wyness insists the situation is not as bleak as it appears. The former Everton CEO, now a football consultant, feels Spurs can still push for European qualification this season and should avoid making rash decisions.

He argued that Frank is a calm, sensible manager who deserves support in the transfer window, adding that Tottenham are already performing better than last season and could quickly climb the table with a good run of results. Wyness suggested finishes around seventh or eighth, potentially enough for Europa League or Conference League football, are still achievable.

While admitting the West Ham loss was a setback, Wyness stressed this is the moment for the club to show faith in the manager they appointed rather than reacting impulsively.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that sacking Frank in his first season could cost Spurs up to £8 million in compensation. Despite this, potential replacements are already being discussed, with former Tottenham player Ryan Mason surprisingly linked to the role after his recent dismissal by West Brom.
