Tottenham Hotspur are still looking to strengthen their attacking options before the summer transfer window closes. With Spurs reportedly nearing deals for Manchester City duo Omar Marmoush and Savinho, manager Roberto De Zerbi remains keen to add further quality and depth in the final third.
According to Football Fancast, Tottenham have now identified Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson as a possible target. The 24-year-old is reportedly not included in Xabi Alonso’s plans at Stamford Bridge, while Aston Villa are also keeping an eye on his situation as doubts continue over Ollie Watkins’ future.
Chelsea are believed to want around £65 million for Jackson, although Tottenham could potentially secure a lower fee given his uncertain role and the approaching transfer deadline.
Jackson spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich, contributing to 15 goals across all competitions. He also enjoyed an encouraging pre-season with Chelsea, which has reportedly attracted interest from another Premier League side.
Tottenham may need to sell before pursuing Jackson
Spurs could find themselves with an overcrowded attack once Marmoush and Savinho complete their expected moves. That could force the club to sell one or more players before making a serious attempt to sign Jackson.
Richarlison has been linked with a move away in recent weeks, but Tottenham have yet to receive an offer that has led to an agreement. The Brazilian’s future could therefore have a major impact on whether Spurs make a late push for another forward.
If Tottenham manage to bring Jackson to north London, he would give De Zerbi another versatile attacking option. His physicality, movement in the penalty area and ability to finish from close range make him a dangerous presence, while his pressing could also fit the manager’s tactical philosophy.
The striker can also drop into deeper positions to connect play, use his strength to hold up the ball and operate from the left when required. His versatility could make him a useful addition to Spurs’ attacking unit.
