Tottenham Hotspur’s hunt for attacking reinforcements has expanded to three names, with Cody Gakpo of Liverpool joining Manchester City’s Savinho and Omar Marmoush on the club’s radar.
Talks over Savinho and Marmoush are already advancing, and Spurs are expected to table an upgraded bid for Gakpo in the coming days.
The club’s ambitions aren’t limited to domestic business, though. AS Monaco’s Folarin Balogun continues to feature in their plans, with the American forward previously on their books of targets and said to be receptive to a move.
Tottenham’s proximity to wrapping up the Savinho and Marmoush deals hasn’t dulled their appetite for Balogun. L’Equipe reports that Monaco are readying themselves for his potential exit before the window ends.
Since moving from Arsenal in August 2023, Balogun has built an impressive record at Monaco — 31 goals and 19 assists from 91 outings, with 19 goals and five assists coming last season alone.
He’s been absent from Monaco’s first two fixtures this campaign with a minor injury issue, training away from the group. The club reportedly views the situation as partly a protective measure while they weigh up a possible sale late in the window. Monaco have already brought in Matthis Abline for around €30 million as cover, and any sale of Balogun would free up further funds for squad building.
Spurs face competition for his signature, with Barcelona and Aston Villa also said to have made contact. Whether Tottenham push harder for the striker may hinge on how quickly the Marmoush deal is finalized.
