Arsenal fans have been left stunned after news emerged that Tottenham have written to the PGMOL to raise concerns over recent refereeing decisions.
While the Gunners sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League with nine matches to play, their North London rivals are hovering just four points above the relegation zone. Despite the appointment of Igor Tudor, Spurs still face the genuine prospect of dropping into the Championship, with teams around them showing resilience.
Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown recently claimed Tudor is already in “serious trouble.” In contrast, Arsenal remain in contention not only for the league title but also for European glory, with optimism growing among supporters.
Tottenham have formally contacted the Professional Game Match Officials Limited regarding what they believe are inconsistent decisions, particularly in the penalty area, according to BBC Sport.
Arsenal supporters have mocked the move, accusing Spurs of blaming officials despite their poor league form, with some even joking about relegation. Social media reactions included claims that Tottenham are becoming a “pathetic institution,” while others responded with amusement at the developments from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, many Spurs fans have defended the club’s stance, pointing to what they see as clear inconsistencies in recent matches. They reference incidents such as a disallowed goal for Randal Kolo Muani against Arsenal, followed by a controversial goal from Harry Wilson that stood despite an apparent foul on Radu Dragusin.
What action, if any, will follow the complaint remains uncertain. Still, some within the Tottenham fanbase believe their league position might look very different had those decisions gone their way.
