Tottenham CEO Vinai Venkatesham has addressed supporters directly, stressing that the club’s summer has been defined by concrete action rather than empty promises.
Per Gary Ward on X, Venkatesham acknowledged the frustration among fans over past commitments that didn’t always translate into visible change, using his message to lay out some of the key work done around the men’s first team this summer. With expectations running high going into the new season, he explained that the club’s leadership had prioritised making fast, meaningful improvements to the first-team setup.
“I know that many supporters feel they have too often just heard words and not seen actions. This summer has been focussed on action and I wanted to summarise some of the most significant work undertaken around our Men’s team,” Venkatesham said.
It’s been a hectic summer at the club, with head coach Roberto De Zerbi and technical director Johan Lange working closely with the executive team to overhaul the squad and strengthen the club’s footballing foundations more broadly.
The changes go beyond just transfer business. Spurs have brought in several high-profile names — Sandro Tonali, Omar Marmoush and Sávio among them — to give De Zerbi more quality and depth to work with. Alongside that, reports suggest the club has also revamped its performance and medical departments, along with upgrades to the first-team gym and training facilities, all aimed at building a stronger environment around the squad and boosting player availability and performance long-term.
The underlying message from Venkatesham seems clear: he wants fans to judge Tottenham on what’s actually being done rather than what’s being said.
