Bayern Munich could make a major change to Michael Olise’s contract amid Liverpool interest

Bayern Munich Could Hand Michael Olise a Huge Release Clause in New Contract 🚨

Bayern Munich could reportedly include a release clause in Michael Olise’s contract if the French winger agrees to sign a new deal.

There is currently no immediate pressure for Bayern to renew Olise’s contract, with his existing agreement running until the summer of 2029. However, the German giants are concerned about potentially losing significant value if the 2027/28 season begins with the 24-year-old still refusing to extend his stay.

Bayern have no desire to sell Olise and would prefer to keep him in Munich for the long term. Nevertheless, they are aware that losing a player of his quality would be a major blow, particularly given his status as one of the best right-wing options in world football.

According to Christian Falk, Bayern could consider adding a release clause to Olise’s new contract, similar to the one included in Jamal Musiala’s deal.

«“This could be an idea for Michael Olise if he signs a new contract,” Falk told CF Bayern Insider.»

However, any release clause is expected to be set at an extremely high figure. Bayern would reportedly be comfortable with a clause worth around €150 million, €200 million or even €250 million.

That would at least provide Bayern with financial protection if Olise eventually decided to leave, giving the club substantial funds to find a replacement.

For now, though, Olise is understood to be happy in Munich. Despite previous links with Real Madrid, there was no strong indication that the France international was desperate to leave Bayern during the latest transfer window.

How Much Would It Cost to Sign Olise?

Olise’s current contract is reportedly less lucrative than those of Bayern stars such as Harry Kane and Musiala, giving the Bundesliga champions another reason to offer him improved terms.

With his enormous potential and importance to Bayern, a future transfer could command a staggering fee in the region of €150m–€250m.

Liverpool’s Barcola Move Could Complicate Things

Liverpool have previously been linked with a move for Olise, but their recent signing of Bradley Barcola could now make any future pursuit more complicated.

Barcola had reportedly been viewed as a potential replacement for Olise should Bayern ever be forced to part ways with their winger. However, with the Frenchman now at Anfield, Bayern would need to identify another suitable successor if Olise pushes for an exit next summer.

Liverpool also failed to add a natural right winger during the latest transfer window. Victor Munoz can operate in that position, while Rio Ngumoha, Cody Gakpo and Barcola are more naturally suited to the left.

Andoni Iraola could solve that issue by rotating his attackers across both flanks, but Liverpool would surely consider Olise an attractive option if they wanted to strengthen the right side for the long term.

For now, everything depends on whether Olise agrees to fresh terms with Bayern. If he does, a massive release clause could become the key factor in determining his future.
