Spurs Get Significant Lift as Leeds United Rocked by Damaging Injury Blow Before Trip to Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have three remaining fixtures to secure their Premier League status as the relegation battle reaches its most critical point.

Spirits are lifting among the Spurs faithful following back-to-back league wins, a welcome turnaround after an agonising 118-day stretch without a single Premier League victory. Since Roberto De Zerbi took charge, north London has been reinvigorated, with Tottenham losing just once in their last four games and picking up seven points from a possible 12.

Leeds injury woes hand Spurs a golden opening

Opta’s supercomputer now places Tottenham as favourites to beat the drop, with the survival battle appearing to have narrowed to a straight fight between Spurs and fellow London side West Ham United.

Their position could strengthen further with a win over Leeds, who have largely secured their own safety and currently sit 14th. Ahead of Monday’s meeting, the Yorkshire club are dealing with a notable injury crisis that could play right into Tottenham’s hands.

Assistant manager Edmund Riemer stepped in to take the pre-match press conference after Daniel Farke fell ill, leaving the manager’s availability for the trip to north London in doubt. Leeds also confirmed three first-team absences for the fixture. Gudmundsson, previously listed as doubtful, has now been ruled out entirely. Noah Okafor is also unavailable after suffering a calf injury, with the forward now targeting a return on the final day of the season. Defender Pascal Struijk is meanwhile considered doubtful after picking up a hip complaint.

Tottenham must make their advantage count

With Leeds short-handed, Spurs have a real opportunity to claim three points in front of their home crowd and build further momentum. The atmosphere at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is expected to be electric as supporters get behind the team in what is shaping up to be a defining evening.

Should West Ham lose to Arsenal, a Spurs victory would move them four points clear of the drop zone. Even if the Hammers draw, Tottenham would extend their cushion to three points, piling pressure on their rivals and putting their survival fate firmly in their own hands.
