Spurs Fans Demand Porro Switch as Patience With Kolo Muani Runs Out

Tottenham supporters are venting their frustration after the club squandered a golden chance to secure their Premier League status against London rivals Chelsea.

Spurs travelled to Stamford Bridge knowing a single point would have put them in a commanding position in the relegation fight with West Ham. Instead, they came away with nothing, losing 2-1 as Chelsea completed a league double over them.

While the performance was a collective disappointment, much of the fan anger has landed on Randal Kolo Muani, who struggled once again in an unfamiliar right-wing role.

The French striker joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain with the hope of rekindling the form that once marked him out as one of the continent’s most exciting forwards. Outside of a memorable hat-trick against his parent club earlier in the season — a game Spurs still lost — he has done little to justify that faith. With survival still unresolved, supporters are growing increasingly impatient with his continued involvement at such a critical point in the campaign.

The difficulty for manager Roberto De Zerbi is that injuries have left him desperately short of attacking options. Should Dominic Solanke not be ready to start against Everton, De Zerbi faces another round of awkward tactical shuffling. And even with Solanke available, there are genuine doubts over whether he or Richarlison can fill the right-wing role effectively.

That has led some fans to a bold, unconventional proposal: push Pedro Porro forward into the right-wing position. The Spaniard has been among Spurs’ more impressive performers of late, and with his naturally attack-minded qualities as a wing-back, many believe he could bring far more dynamism and threat in advanced areas than Kolo Muani currently offers. Such a move would likely open the door for Djed Spence to come back in at right-back, where he looks more assured defensively.

Questions remain over the defensive balance — particularly around Destiny Udogie and the backline — but the mood among supporters is that almost any change would be an improvement on the status quo.

Unconventional as it may seem, there is a growing sense that Spurs need bold thinking if they are to avoid the drop on the final day. After recent displays, many fans have simply stopped believing Kolo Muani can be part of the solution.
