Liverpool Star Omitted Again as Romano Reveals His Desire to Join Inter Milan

Liverpool Star Left Out Again as Romano Reveals Inter Milan Transfer Desire

Curtis Jones has once again been omitted from Liverpool’s pre-season squad, further fuelling speculation that the midfielder could leave Anfield before the summer transfer window closes.

The 25-year-old was absent from Liverpool’s two friendly matches against Como, following his earlier omission against Monaco. While Andoni Iraola previously explained that Jones was left out of the Monaco game as a precaution, his continued absence has now raised fresh questions about his future.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update, claiming that Inter Milan remain interested in the English midfielder and are expected to make another offer.

According to Romano, Jones wants the move to Inter, meaning the final decision could now come down to negotiations between the two clubs.

Inter Milan preparing another offer

Inter have identified Jones as a key target as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season.

The Serie A club are reportedly considering a bid of around £30 million (€35 million), with Liverpool believed to have become slightly more flexible regarding their original valuation.

However, the transfer could depend on Inter first completing the expected sale of Davide Frattesi. His departure would provide the Italian club with additional funds and room in their squad for Jones.

If Frattesi leaves as expected, Inter could then step up their efforts to secure the Liverpool midfielder.

Jones is reportedly attracted by the possibility of starting a new chapter in Serie A, while his technical ability and versatility could make him well suited to Italian football.

Jones’ Liverpool future increasingly uncertain

Jones came through Liverpool’s academy and has been with the club throughout his professional career, but his relationship with some supporters has reportedly become strained following a number of recent incidents.

He attracted criticism after failing to celebrate his goal against Brentford during Liverpool’s final home game of last season. More recently, his confrontation with Dominik Szoboszlai and Kostas Tsimikas following the pre-season victory over Wrexham also generated controversy.

The arrival of Florian Wirtz has further increased competition for midfield places, potentially making a move away from Anfield more appealing to Jones.

With Inter still interested and another bid reportedly expected, the midfielder’s future at Liverpool now appears increasingly uncertain.
