BREAKING: Liverpool agree five-year deal with Ibrahim Mbaye
Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye over personal terms on a five-year contract, marking a major step forward in the Reds’ pursuit of the highly-rated teenager.
According to reports emerging today, Mbaye has chosen Liverpool despite interest from other clubs, with Bayer Leverkusen among those previously pushing for his signature. The 18-year-old is now understood to be prioritising a move to Anfield.
However, the deal is not yet complete. Liverpool still need to reach an agreement with PSG over the transfer fee, meaning negotiations between the two clubs remain the crucial next stage.
Mbaye has emerged as one of Liverpool’s attacking targets as the club looks to strengthen its options in the wide areas. The Senegal international can operate on the right or left wing and has attracted significant interest across Europe.
The situation is particularly interesting because Liverpool are also pursuing Mbaye’s PSG teammate Bradley Barcola. Reports indicate that the Reds are continuing negotiations over Barcola while simultaneously working on a potential deal for Mbaye, raising the possibility of Liverpool signing both players this summer.
PSG’s stance will now be decisive. Personal terms with Mbaye appear to have been agreed, but Liverpool must still convince the French champions to sanction his departure.
For Liverpool supporters, this is a significant development — but the final agreement with PSG remains the biggest hurdle.
The question now is simple: will Liverpool complete the deal and bring Ibrahim Mbaye to Anfield?
