Harry Redknapp has joked that he would reunite two former Rangers players to help save Tottenham Hotspur, as he addressed speculation linking him with a possible return to Spurs. ⚽

Harry Redknapp has dismissed speculation linking him with a return to Tottenham Hotspur during the club’s difficult Premier League campaign. However, he jokingly suggested that if he did make a comeback, he would reunite with some familiar players — including two former Rangers stars.

The former Spurs boss managed eight different clubs in England over a career spanning more than three decades. When he left Portsmouth F.C. to join Tottenham in 2008, he brought several Portsmouth players with him. Now, with current manager Igor Tudor under growing pressure after losing his first four matches, Redknapp’s name has surfaced as a possible replacement.

The 79-year-old attended the Cheltenham Gold Cup earlier this week to support his horse, The Jukebox Man. Speaking with ITV Racing presenter Matt Chapman, Redknapp joked that a return to Tottenham would see him bring back former Ibrox players Jermaine Defoe and Niko Kranjčar. Defoe played under him at West Ham United, Portsmouth and Tottenham, while Kranjčar was signed by Redknapp at Portsmouth, Spurs and Queens Park Rangers.

Redknapp also laughed that he would bring back striker Peter Crouch, another player he signed multiple times. Joking about the idea, he said that if Tottenham called him, he would gladly accept and “get the band back together,” even suggesting that Kranjčar, Crouch and Defoe could lead the attack in the next game.

While acknowledging that the role would come with huge pressure at his age, Redknapp said he still feels healthy and would consider taking on the challenge if the opportunity arose.

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s problems have deepened despite Ange Postecoglou ending the club’s 17-year trophy drought last season. After a turbulent campaign marked by disciplinary issues, internal disagreements, fan protests and instability at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs now sit just one point above the relegation zone — raising the real possibility of ending their 48-year run in the Premier League. ⚽
