Igor Tudor has insisted he is fully committed to steering Tottenham Hotspur clear of relegation trouble after their alarming slide down the table.
Spurs have struggled badly in recent weeks, going eight Premier League matches without a win — drawing four and losing four — a run that has left them 16th and just five points above the drop zone.
Appointed interim head coach earlier this week, Tudor has been tasked with securing the club’s top-flight status. Speaking at Hotspur Way on Friday, the Croatian expressed complete confidence when asked if Tottenham will stay up.
“Absolutely, 100 per cent,” he said. Reflecting on his first few days in charge, he added: “I’m not here to relax — I’m here to work. There’s a job that needs to be done, and it’s a privilege to be here.”
Tudor’s recent track record includes guiding Marseille and Juventus into the Champions League in 2023 and 2025, as well as leading Lazio to Europa League qualification in 2024. Addressing whether he can spark an immediate turnaround, he explained that every manager has their own philosophy.
“I focus on doing my job the best way I know how. Each club, league and culture presents different challenges, and even the biggest teams face issues. The key is solving them quickly,” he said.
Acknowledging the size of the task ahead, Tudor accepted there is no room for excuses. He stressed that both players and staff must raise their levels, describing the club’s current league position as unacceptable and insisting supporters deserve far better.
Outlining his footballing vision, Tudor emphasised his desire for proactive, attacking play combined with defensive organisation and a clear tactical structure.
