Injury Expert Provides Fresh Alexander Isak Update as Arne Slot Breaks Silence

An update has emerged regarding Alexander Isak’s injury after the forward was forced off during Liverpool’s Premier League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool travelled to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday evening to face Spurs in a high-stakes league clash. The match took a dramatic turn in the 33rd minute when Tottenham were reduced to ten men following Xavi Simons’ reckless challenge on Virgil van Dijk.

After the break, Isak made an immediate impact off the bench, breaking the deadlock in the 56th minute by finishing Florian Wirtz’s perfectly weighted through ball. However, celebrations were short-lived as the Swedish striker appeared to pick up a serious injury after a heavy collision with Micky van de Ven.

Liverpool doubled their advantage ten minutes later through Hugo Ekitike, who rose highest to head past Cristian Romero. Spurs mounted a late fightback when Richarlison scored with seven minutes remaining, before Romero was shown a second yellow card and sent off.

Despite a frantic ending, Liverpool held firm to secure all three points. The win lifted them to fifth in the Premier League table, level on points with Chelsea but trailing on goal difference.
After the final whistle, attention quickly turned to Isak’s condition. Football injury analyst Physio Scout suggested on social media that the striker may have suffered a serious knee injury, possibly involving the ACL and/or meniscus.

Although initial contact occurred at the ankle, the knee was forced into a valgus position. Isak was able to walk off the pitch, which likely rules out a fracture, but he was seen clutching his knee. If the injury is ACL-related, recovery could take nine months or more.

Speaking after the match, Liverpool head coach Arne Slot provided a brief update on the situation. He said:
“If a player scores and then has to come off and can’t continue, that’s usually not a good sign. It’s too soon to say anything definite. It’s never good when a player has to be substituted through injury.

“I took Frimpong off for tactical reasons so that’s not an issue. With Isak and Bradley, we’ll need to wait and see. The positive thing is we have a full week before the next game, so hopefully we’ll have enough players available.”
Liverpool are next in action in the Premier League next weekend when they host Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
