The Reds host Spurs at Anfield in a fixture that could influence both ends of the table, with Liverpool chasing a top-four finish while the North London club fight to stay away from the relegation places.
Form has been somewhat inconsistent for Arne Slot’s side recently. Liverpool suffered a 2–1 league defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. but bounced back with a 3–1 victory over the same opponent in the FA Cup. However, a narrow 1–0 loss to Galatasaray S.K. in the UEFA Champions League during the week highlighted that some issues remain.
Opta pointed to that mixed run while previewing the match, noting that the defeat at Wolves damaged Liverpool’s hopes of closing the gap on the top four, although they quickly responded with the FA Cup win at Molineux.

Tottenham’s recent results have been particularly poor. Opta highlighted that the club are currently on their worst run ever after losing six matches in a row across all competitions. Their struggles reached another low with a heavy 5–2 defeat to Atlético Madrid earlier this week.
Liverpool’s dominant home record
History also strongly supports Liverpool in this fixture. The Reds have lost only once in their last 31 home league meetings with Spurs, recording 21 wins and nine draws during that stretch.
They are also unbeaten in the last 14 encounters at Anfield against Tottenham, a run dating back to Spurs’ 2–0 victory in May 2011.
Former Arsenal F.C. midfielder Paul Merson has also predicted a straightforward win for Liverpool, suggesting the main question could be how many goals the hosts manage to score.
With injuries and suspensions further weakening Tottenham ahead of the trip to Merseyside, the statistics suggest Liverpool have a strong chance to build momentum with a crucial victory.
