Piero Ausilio has reportedly travelled to London to meet with Guglielmo Vicario, as Inter Milan intensify their efforts to sign the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper ahead of next season.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, the visit is part of Inter’s strategy to open direct discussions with Vicario, who has emerged as the club’s top target between the posts. The Italian international is believed to be open to a return to Serie A, having already signalled his willingness to join the Nerazzurri.
Inter’s interest comes amid uncertainty surrounding Yann Sommer, whose current contract is approaching its final stages. The club has reportedly been in contact with Vicario’s representatives for several weeks as they prepare for a potential transition in goal.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are expected to demand a fee in the region of €15m–€20m for the 27-year-old. However, that valuation could drop should Spurs suffer relegation from the Premier League to the EFL Championship.
Despite conceding 165 goals in 115 appearances, Vicario played a key role in Tottenham’s recent success, helping the club secure the UEFA Europa League title last season.
With talks now progressing, Inter appear to be moving decisively to secure their preferred option as they reshape their squad for the upcoming campaign.
