Tottenham face the serious risk of a £168 million player exodus, with a club insider concerned that several key stars could seek moves away from Spurs.

A former Tottenham Hotspur scout has issued a stark warning about a potentially chaotic summer in north London, suggesting up to four senior players could seek transfers if a dramatic turnaround doesn’t happen before the season ends.

It has been another difficult spell for Spurs, who finished 17th in the Premier League last season — one of the poorest campaigns in their modern history. This term looks similarly troubling, with the club currently 16th and only nine points above the relegation zone.

The situation has fueled concern among fans and analysts, with some even raising the possibility of a drop into the EFL Championship. While survival remains the priority, hopes of a late surge into the European spots appear slim. With just 12 matches remaining, Spurs sit more than 10 points adrift of qualification places, and inconsistent form suggests the gap may grow.

Former scout Bryan King believes missing out on European football — unless the club somehow wins the UEFA Champions League — could destabilize the squad.

“If they don’t win the Champions League, they won’t be in Europe next season,” King said.

He claims Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario, and one of Dominic Solanke or Richarlison could push to leave. The quartet cost Spurs a combined £168 million, and losing multiple key figures would likely trigger a major rebuild.

Interest from Spain is reportedly growing. Atlético Madrid are said to admire Romero, while Real Madrid are tracking Van de Ven. Although such departures would bring in substantial fees, replacements would be essential.

Spurs are determined to demand premium prices. Romero is believed to be open to a move, with Tottenham valuing him at £70–80 million. Both Atlético and FC Barcelona have been linked, though Barcelona’s financial issues and Atlético’s cautious spending could complicate any deal.

Off the pitch, Spurs have already acted by appointing Igor Tudor after dismissing Thomas Frank. However, Tudor’s position may remain temporary unless he produces remarkable results.

Former Spurs manager Tim Sherwood suggested only something extraordinary — comparable to Roberto Di Matteo leading Chelsea to Champions League glory — would secure Tudor the role long term.

Meanwhile, transfer links continue. Manchester United are reportedly serious about Christian Pulisic, who has also been connected with Spurs. The club are also competing with United and Leeds United for Hayden Hackney ahead of the summer window.

With relegation concerns, uncertainty over European qualification, and crucial decisions looming, Tottenham appear to be heading into one of their most defining off-seasons in recent years — one that could shape the club’s future direction.
