A new chapter has officially begun at Tottenham as Igor Tudor starts work as interim head coach and wastes no time making changes. The Croatian was confirmed on Friday as the man to replace the dismissed Thomas Frank until the end of the season and arrived in north London over the weekend ahead of Monday’s training session.
Several adjustments have already been made behind the scenes. Assistant coaches Justin Cochrane and Chris Haslam have left the club, along with John Heitinga, whose spell lasted just 32 days despite signing a two-and-a-half-year deal last month.
It’s understood the Dutch coach opted not to remain under Tudor’s new setup. When Heitinga joined on January 15, Frank had praised him as a major addition, highlighting his defensive expertise and wide-ranging coaching experience.
However, results did not improve during his short stint. Spurs went winless in five Premier League matches, losing three and drawing two, although they did secure impressive 2-0 Champions League victories over Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.
With Heitinga, Cochrane and Haslam departing, Tudor has reshaped his backroom team by bringing in assistant Ivan Javorcic, fitness coach Riccardo Ragnacci and goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic.
