Tottenham Hotspur F.C. are reportedly considering disciplinary measures against a recently hired academy scout after controversial social media posts emerged. Club sources claim senior figures were “deeply unimpressed” by the remarks, particularly at a time when tensions are already high in north London.
It has been a difficult season for Spurs, with relegation concerns growing as they approach their final 10 Premier League fixtures. Pressure increased further over the weekend when interim manager Igor Tudor suffered his second consecutive defeat — a 2-1 loss to Fulham F.C.. His first match in charge had also ended in disappointment, as Tottenham were beaten 4-1 at home by Arsenal F.C. in the North London Derby. That result mirrored an earlier 4-1 defeat at the Emirates under former boss Thomas Frank. Arsenal, led by Mikel Arteta, have enjoyed recent dominance in the fixture, deepening frustration among Spurs supporters.
The latest setback also confirmed the earliest-ever St Totteringham’s Day, marking the point at which Tottenham can no longer finish above Arsenal in the table — another blow in an already challenging campaign.
Amid this backdrop, academy scout Neros Coachman has come under scrutiny. According to the Daily Mail, his online activity has sparked internal concern. Coachman, who states he holds a UEFA B Licence, posted a photo in Tottenham training gear alongside the club motto, “To Dare Is To Do,” expressing excitement about recruiting future stars.
However, controversy followed when he revealed he had been a childhood Arsenal fan who had “switched sides.” He then engaged in exchanges with followers that were viewed as ill-judged, including joking about wearing a base layer under the Spurs badge, replying “shhhhh” to a comment suggesting the club “needs someone on the inside,” and responding to a snake emoji by saying it was “deserved haha.” He also admitted it felt “tough” putting on Tottenham attire.
While some may interpret the posts as light-hearted banter, their timing has reportedly frustrated senior officials. With the team battling poor form on the pitch, any perception of divided loyalty behind the scenes is said to be unwelcome. The situation is understood to be under internal review, with possible further action as Spurs seek to restore focus and unity during a turbulent period.
