Tottenham on course to break revenue record following £70m+ Champions League windfall

Despite enduring a difficult campaign on the pitch, Tottenham Hotspur are on course to break their all-time revenue record this season, according to sources close to the club.

Spurs currently sit 16th in the Premier League standings, just a single point above the relegation zone. However, their run to the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League has delivered a significant financial lift.

Igor Tudor’s side were eliminated in the last 16 by Atlético Madrid with a 7–5 aggregate defeat, despite winning the second leg 3–2. Financially, though, the European journey proved highly rewarding.

Figures from the Deloitte 2026 Money League showed Tottenham’s revenue climbed from £528 million in the 2023–24 season to £565 million last year — the highest in the club’s history. That total is expected to rise again thanks to Champions League earnings.

Tottenham finished fourth in the league phase of the competition, recording five wins and one draw to secure automatic qualification for the round of 16. Even though they fell short of reaching the quarter-finals — where they would have faced FC Barcelona — the campaign still generated substantial income.

Overall, Spurs collected around £71.6 million in prize money from the Champions League this season, a figure that could have increased by an additional £10.8 million had they advanced further. Sources believe this financial boost will push the club’s revenue close to the £600 million mark, narrowing the gap with domestic rivals such as Liverpool FC, who reported the highest turnover in the league at £703 million last season.

However, Tottenham may face a financial setback next year due to poor domestic performances. The club crashed out of the FA Cup in the third round and failed to progress beyond the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, while their league struggles threaten their place in the top flight.

With no European football expected at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season, revenue is projected to decline. For now, the priority remains survival in the Premier League, as Tudor prepares his squad for a crucial clash against Nottingham Forest on Sunday — a match that could play a decisive role in easing their relegation worries.
