Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up to return with an improved bid for Santos left-back Souza after seeing their initial offer knocked back, according to talkSPORT.
Spurs recently had an £8 million proposal rejected for the 19-year-old defender but remain keen on securing his signature and are now expected to test Santos’ resolve with a fresh approach.
Newcastle United have also been credited with an interest in Souza in recent weeks. However, talkSPORT reports that the Magpies are not currently in contention to land the Brazilian youngster, leaving Tottenham firmly in the driving seat.
Souza enjoyed an impressive 2025 campaign with Gremio, establishing himself as a regular in Serie A action. The teenage full-back featured in 24 league matches, contributing one goal and two assists, performances that have caught the attention of European clubs.
With Tottenham continuing to target young, high-upside talents, an improved bid for Souza could arrive soon as the North London side look to strengthen their defensive options.
