Tottenham Hotspur supporters have thrown their backing behind interim head coach Igor Tudor after his first interview since taking over.
Tudor has been handed responsibility for Spurs’ remaining 12 Premier League fixtures following the dismissal of Thomas Frank in his debut season at the helm. The 47-year-old previously managed clubs such as Juventus, Lazio and Marseille, and has been without a job since October 2025. His immediate challenge is steering Spurs clear of the relegation battle, with only a five-point cushion separating them from 18th-placed West Ham United.
Fans hail Tudor’s first interview
Tudor’s first match in charge will come against fierce north London rivals Arsenal, with Spurs enjoying more than a week to prepare for the clash.
Having not featured in the FA Cup and with no midweek league fixture — unlike Arsenal — Tottenham have had extra time to focus on the encounter. Speaking to club media for the first time, Tudor struck an optimistic tone that clearly resonated with fans.
Many supporters had previously criticised Frank’s cautious approach in interviews, but Tudor has already promised to approach every game with the intention of winning. One fan described the interview as “superb,” while another said the Croatian had “already delivered more positivity than the previous manager.”
Spurs eye potential long-term option
Although Tudor could yet earn the job on a permanent basis, Spurs are reportedly considering other candidates for next season.
Current Manchester United interim boss Michael Carrick is believed to be among the names on Tottenham’s shortlist. The 44-year-old, who previously played for Spurs, has impressed at Old Trafford and is unbeaten in his first five games in charge — including a 2-0 victory over Tottenham.
That run has propelled United into the Premier League’s top four, strengthening Carrick’s case for the role on a permanent basis. However, if United fail to secure a Champions League spot by finishing in the top four, he is expected to become available at the end of the season.
