World-Class’ Forward Makes Decision on January Move to Tottenham After Transfer Discussions

‘World-Class’ Striker Makes Decision on January Tottenham Move After Talks
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly opened discussions over a possible January transfer for England forward Ivan Toney, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.

Spurs are eager to strengthen Thomas Frank’s attacking options midway through the season and could look to reunite the head coach with his former Brentford talisman.

Currently in his second campaign with Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli, Toney is said to be considering a return to England in an effort to revive his chances of making the England squad for the 2026 World Cup. However, his prospects remain uncertain.

Reports suggest England boss Thomas Tuchel was unimpressed by the striker during his call-up in June, and those close to Toney do not expect that perception to shift significantly, even if he completes a January move back to the Premier League.

Spurs Consider January Reunion with Toney
Bailey claims Frank would welcome the opportunity to work with Toney again, as Tottenham look to further reinforce their attack next month.
Despite signing Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus and Randal Kolo Muani in the summer, the trio have managed just three Premier League goals between them so far.

With Dominic Solanke still sidelined by a long-term ankle injury and Richarlison topping the scoring charts with six goals from 15 games, Spurs’ need for a proven central striker has become increasingly clear.

Toney could fit that profile, especially given his impressive output for Al-Ahli. The ‘world-class’ forward scored 30 goals and registered six assists in 44 appearances last season, and has already netted 12 times in 18 matches this term.
Yan Diomande Also on Tottenham Radar
Toney is not the only forward under consideration, with RB Leipzig’s highly-rated youngster Yan Diomande also on Tottenham’s shortlist ahead of January.

GIVEMESPORT’s Fabrizio Romano reports that several clubs are tracking the 19-year-old following his breakout campaign in Germany.
Diomande, who arrived at Leipzig from Leganés in July, has enjoyed a strong start, recording seven goals and four assists in 15 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
