Tottenham Hotspur’s summer spending hasn’t just been about the first team — with £237 million already committed to senior signings, the club has also made strengthening its academy a top priority.

Having already landed promising youngster Cole Ramsey earlier in the window, Spurs remain busy chasing some of England’s top young talents, with moves in progress for Wolverhampton Wanderers prospect Kwasi Senyah and Manchester City’s highly-rated 16-year-old Xavier Parker.

Spurs Beat Arsenal to Isaac Allen

Tottenham have now wrapped up another notable academy capture, winning the race for West Ham United midfielder Isaac Allen. Daily Mail reporter Isaan Khan says the England Under-15 captain has opted for Spurs despite firm interest from Arsenal, who had been keeping tabs on the youngster throughout his time in West Ham’s youth setup. Tottenham are understood to have won him over, with the deal reportedly done and an official announcement expected soon.

Part of Venkatesham’s Academy Vision

The capture fits with a plan CEO Vinai Venkatesham laid out earlier in the year, when he made clear that developing young talent would be central to Tottenham’s future direction, calling the academy one of the club’s key long-term assets. He pointed out that homegrown players not only save on transfer costs but also bring an understanding of the club’s identity and values that’s harder to buy in.

Venkatesham also admitted that, despite progress in coaching and recruitment, the club wanted to see more academy products break through to the first team and build significant transfer value — prompting further investment into both scouting and player development structures.

With Allen’s arrival joining a string of other promising young additions this summer, Tottenham are showing that their stated commitment to youth development is being backed up by real activity in the market.
