BREAKING: Kompany Responds to Liverpool’s Interest in Michael Olise

Vincent Kompany Responds to Liverpool’s Reported Interest in Michael Olise

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has reportedly addressed Liverpool’s interest in Michael Olise, acknowledging that the French winger is attracting attention from the Reds while insisting that the player remains focused on life at Bayern.

Speaking during a pre-season media session, Kompany reportedly praised Olise’s outstanding ability and suggested that interest from Europe’s biggest clubs is a natural consequence of his performances.

“Michael is a fantastic player,” Kompany reportedly said. “When you perform at the level he has, clubs like Liverpool will naturally show interest. That is part of football. But Michael is focused on Bayern and continues to work hard every day.”

The comments have added further fuel to speculation surrounding Liverpool’s transfer plans as the club continues to explore options for strengthening its attack ahead of the new season.

Liverpool are believed to have admired Olise for some time, with his creativity, technical quality and versatility making him an attractive target. The 23-year-old can operate from either wing or through a more central attacking role, giving any team multiple options in the final third.

His ability to beat defenders, create chances and contribute goals has established him as one of Europe’s most exciting attacking players. Liverpool reportedly believe his qualities could bring another dimension to their forward line.

However, Kompany has made it clear that Bayern have no intention of willingly losing one of their key players.

“Michael is an important part of our project,” he reportedly added. “We want our best players to stay because we have ambitious objectives this season. Interest from other clubs does not change our plans.”

Olise has continued to develop since moving to Bayern, impressing with his pace, close control, intelligent movement and ability to produce decisive moments in the final third.

For Liverpool, his creativity and one-on-one ability could provide an additional attacking weapon, particularly against teams that defend deep and make space difficult to find.

Despite the growing rumours, Bayern remain in a strong position. Olise is under contract, meaning the German champions have little reason to sell unless a major offer arrives that changes the situation.

Any potential transfer would likely require a significant financial commitment from Liverpool, with Bayern expected to demand a substantial fee for one of their most important attacking players.

Liverpool supporters have already reacted positively to the speculation, with many believing Olise’s style, creativity and attacking intelligence would make him an excellent fit at Anfield.

However, no official bid has been confirmed, and Kompany’s reported comments should not be interpreted as confirmation that negotiations are underway or that a transfer is close.

For now, Olise remains a Bayern player. But with Liverpool reportedly monitoring his situation, the French international could become one of the names to watch closely as the transfer window develops.
