Liverpool are reportedly considering a €65 million summer move for Real Madrid forward Endrick as they assess options to strengthen their attack.
Real Madrid have had a busy summer, bringing in several new players as they prepare for the upcoming campaign. However, Endrick’s return to the Santiago Bernabéu has been overshadowed by growing uncertainty over his role in the squad.
The Brazilian striker impressed during his loan spell at Lyon and was expected to return to Madrid ready to compete for an important position. However, the competition for places in the attack could make regular playing time difficult to secure.
According to reports from the British press, relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool have identified Endrick as one of the forwards they could target as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
The 20-year-old is reportedly being considered alongside other attacking options, including Bradley Barcola, Ibrahima Mbaye and Yankuba Minteh. Liverpool are said to be prepared to spend around €65 million to bring Endrick to Anfield.
The situation at Real Madrid has become increasingly complicated for the youngster. With Kylian Mbappé occupying a prominent role in attack and further attacking reinforcements arriving at the club, Endrick could find himself facing an uphill battle for consistent minutes.
Although José Mourinho is reportedly still keen on the Brazilian forward, there are concerns that his position in the pecking order could become even more difficult to improve.
Endrick is currently remaining with Real Madrid and undergoing a specialised training programme aimed at helping him avoid further injury problems following a disrupted period.
Liverpool are also not the only club monitoring his situation. Real Madrid have reportedly turned down approaches from Italian clubs, while AC Milan have contacted the player’s representatives regarding a possible loan move.
A temporary transfer could ultimately prove beneficial for Endrick, giving him the regular playing time needed to continue his development.
Whether his next chapter comes at Liverpool, in Italy or elsewhere, however, remains uncertain.
