Liverpool’s transfer gamble appears to be working as PSG reportedly slash their valuation of Bradley Barcola.

Liverpool’s patient approach in their pursuit of Bradley Barcola could finally be paying off, with reports suggesting Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to reduce their asking price for the winger.

Barcola remains one of Liverpool’s main attacking targets and has also attracted interest from Arsenal. New Reds manager Andoni Iraola is looking to strengthen his forward line following Mohamed Salah’s departure, with the 23-year-old Frenchman seen as a player capable of making an immediate impact on either flank.

The winger is reportedly open to a move to Anfield, while personal terms are not expected to be a major obstacle. The biggest challenge has been PSG’s valuation of the player.

PSG previously demanded around $173 million (£145 million) for Barcola, a figure Liverpool were unwilling to meet. However, fresh reports suggest the French champions could now lower their asking price to around $149 million (£110 million), potentially bringing the two clubs closer to an agreement.

Liverpool are also keeping tabs on Barcola’s PSG teammate Ibrahim Mbaye. Reports from France claim the Reds have already reached an agreement on personal terms with the young striker, with discussions continuing as Liverpool consider a potential double swoop.

According to French outlet Jeunes Footeux, PSG’s recent additions to their attack, including Ferran Torres and Mika Godts, could encourage the club to soften their stance on Barcola’s valuation.

PSG have reportedly spent around €150 million on new players this summer, although much of that expenditure has been balanced by player sales. As a result, the Ligue 1 giants are not under immediate pressure to sell, meaning Liverpool may still need to negotiate carefully to secure Barcola’s signature.
