Tottenham Face Crucial Transfer Decisions as Savinho Leads the Race
Tottenham Hotspur are expected to remain busy in the transfer market, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano indicating that the club could still make at least three more signings before the window closes. Spurs have already completed six additions this summer, strengthening several areas of the squad as Roberto De Zerbi continues to reshape the team.
After an active start to the window, Tottenham’s attention has now shifted towards improving their attack. The club are particularly keen to bring in another winger, while a new centre-forward is also being considered before the transfer deadline.
Savinho remains Tottenham’s main winger target
Manchester City winger Savinho is reportedly Tottenham’s preferred option for strengthening the wide areas. Spurs are continuing to explore a possible deal for the Brazilian, although negotiations could prove difficult.
Romano has explained that Tottenham’s choice on the wing currently appears to be between Savinho and Pedro Neto, with Savinho still the leading candidate. Neto has been identified as an alternative if Spurs are unable to reach an agreement with Manchester City.
One of the main obstacles is City’s desire to secure a replacement before allowing Savinho to leave. This could delay Tottenham’s efforts to complete the transfer.
Gakpo is also being pursued
Tottenham are simultaneously working on a potential move for Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo. Discussions are reportedly continuing, with regular contact taking place between the parties.
Gakpo is said to be open to the possibility of moving to Tottenham, which could help Spurs in their pursuit of the Netherlands international. However, Liverpool are expected to demand a suitable replacement before considering his departure.
That situation could make negotiations increasingly complicated as the transfer deadline approaches.
Spurs considering another striker
Tottenham’s plans for a new striker remain less certain. Romano has confirmed that the club are discussing the possibility of adding another central forward, although there is currently no clear favourite for the position.
Several players have been linked with Spurs, including Eli Junior Kroupi, although his injury has complicated that possibility. Folarin Balogun has also been mentioned, but reports suggesting Tottenham are preparing a serious move for him have been played down.
Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush is another name on the radar, although it remains unclear whether Spurs will make a formal approach.
Ivan Toney an experienced option
Ivan Toney could be an attractive alternative if Tottenham decide they need a proven Premier League striker. The England international has extensive experience in the English top flight from his time with Brentford and has consistently demonstrated his goalscoring ability.
Toney has also continued to perform well since moving to Saudi Arabia with Al Ahli. His physical qualities, experience and familiarity with Premier League football could allow him to make an immediate contribution.
Osimhen would be a complicated deal
Victor Osimhen would represent a major statement signing for Tottenham, but bringing the Nigerian striker to north London could be considerably more difficult.
His wages and the overall financial cost of the transfer would be significant factors for Spurs to consider. His lack of Premier League experience could also make Tottenham more cautious about committing to such a substantial investment.
For now, Tottenham’s clearest priority appears to be strengthening the wings, with Savinho at the top of the list and Pedro Neto viewed as an alternative. Gakpo also remains an important target, while the club continue to assess whether another striker is necessary.
With the transfer deadline approaching, the coming weeks could be decisive. If Romano’s information proves accurate, Tottenham could still make several more additions and significantly strengthen De Zerbi’s attacking options before the window closes.
