Tottenham midfielder Jamie Donley is set to undergo his medical ahead of joining Luton Town on a season-long loan.
The agreement does not include a buy option, with Spurs retaining their long-term plans for the 21-year-old and wanting to assess his development after the loan spell.
Donley impressed Roberto De Zerbi during Tottenham’s pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, but competition for midfield places has increased significantly following the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
The midfielder spent the first half of last season at Stoke City before being recalled and sent to Oxford United, where he caught the eye despite the club’s relegation.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are also discussing a potential permanent departure for Pape Matar Sarr, who has attracted interest from Aston Villa. Spurs are believed to value the Senegal international at around £20m.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Sarr, De Zerbi has suggested the midfielder could still have a future at the club.
Lucas Bergvall, meanwhile, is now expected to remain at Spurs and fight for his place after previously considering an exit.
