Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for a busy final few days of the transfer window, with Roberto De Zerbi ready to sanction further departures as Spurs look to balance their huge summer spending.
The north London club have invested heavily this summer, bringing in a number of major additions, including Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Savinho and Omar Marmoush. Marmoush only joined from Manchester City on Thursday on an initial loan deal that includes a mandatory purchase clause worth £50m, potentially rising to £60m with add-ons.
Attention is now turning to the exits.
Pape Matar Sarr appears increasingly likely to be the next senior player through the door. Nottingham Forest have emerged as the leading contenders for the Senegal international, with negotiations reportedly progressing over an initial loan deal that would include an option to buy. Tottenham are believed to value Sarr at around £21.5m.
There is also movement among Spurs’ younger players. Jamie Donley is in advanced talks to join Luton Town on a season-long loan and has reportedly travelled for his medical. The move is expected to be a straight loan without a purchase option.
Mikey Moore is another player whose future remains under discussion. The teenager scored Tottenham’s opening goal in the 5-1 Carabao Cup victory over Charlton, but despite his impressive performance, a loan move to FC Köln remains a possibility before Tuesday’s deadline. De Zerbi is understood to believe regular first-team football would benefit Moore’s development.
Richarlison’s situation has also become increasingly uncertain following the arrival of Marmoush. The Brazilian has been linked with a potential move away from Spurs, with Saudi Arabia reportedly a more realistic destination than a return to Everton. Marmoush’s arrival has only intensified speculation over Richarlison’s future.
With the transfer deadline approaching on September 1, Tottenham could therefore see several more departures before the window closes. Spurs have already generated significant funds through player sales, and further exits could provide De Zerbi with additional room to reshape his squad.
The coming days could be crucial, with Sarr, Richarlison, Moore and Donley among the players whose futures could be decided before the deadline.
