Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott’s future at Anfield is becoming increasingly uncertain, with Napoli and Lazio reportedly monitoring his situation ahead of the transfer deadline.
Elliott returned to Liverpool after a frustrating loan spell at Aston Villa, where he struggled for regular Premier League minutes. Things became even more concerning when new manager Andoni Iraola left him out of Liverpool’s squad for the opening league match against Newcastle.
According to the report, Liverpool are willing to listen to offers for Elliott, although they had not received a formal bid at the time of publication. The club is also reportedly open to proposals for Federico Chiesa.
The main issue for Elliott is playing time. At 23, another season on the fringes could slow his development, so a move to Italy could give him the opportunity to restart his career and play more regularly.
Napoli and Lazio are therefore being presented as two possible destinations. Both could offer Elliott a fresh challenge and potentially a bigger role.
However, Liverpool are reportedly not looking to sell him cheaply. Despite his recent struggles for minutes, Elliott remains a technically gifted midfielder who can create chances, play between the lines and operate as an attacking midfielder or from the right.
So, for now, the situation is: Elliott could leave Liverpool before the transfer deadline, with Napoli and Lazio among the clubs showing interest, but no official offer has yet arrived.
