Harvey Elliott’s Liverpool future is starting to look shaky, with reports linking both Napoli and Lazio with a move for the midfielder before the transfer window shuts.
The 23-year-old came back to Anfield following a difficult loan spell at Aston Villa, where regular Premier League football proved hard to come by. Matters didn’t improve on his return, either, after he was left out of the squad entirely for the season-opener against Newcastle.
Reports suggest Liverpool would be willing to entertain offers for Elliott, though nothing concrete has landed on the table just yet. Federico Chiesa is said to be in a similar position, with the club open to discussing his exit too.
At the heart of Elliott’s situation is a lack of game time. With his development at a crucial stage, another year stuck on the periphery isn’t ideal, making a switch to Serie A an attractive option if it means regular football again.
That’s where Napoli and Lazio come in — both mentioned as clubs who could offer him a fresh start and a genuinely important role in the side.
Liverpool, though, aren’t expected to let him go on the cheap. Even with his limited minutes of late, Elliott remains a highly rated creative player capable of unlocking defences, whether through the middle or cutting in from the right.
So as things stand, an Elliott exit before deadline day remains a live possibility, with Italian interest building — but for now, no official bid has come in.
