Liverpool and PSG agree Bradley Barcola fee as Reds make final decision on Cody Gakpo’s future

‘Fee Agreed’ as Liverpool Close in on Bradley Barcola Deal with PSG — Cody Gakpo Decision Revealed

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, with the two clubs said to have agreed on a package worth up to £123 million.

According to transfer reporter Alex Crook, the agreement includes an initial £106 million fee, with a further £17 million in potential add-ons. The deal is expected to be completed before Tuesday night’s transfer deadline.

The situation surrounding Cody Gakpo has also become clearer. Liverpool are reportedly unlikely to sell the Dutch forward unless they bring in another attacker in addition to Barcola.

Earlier reports suggested PSG wanted around £145 million for Barcola, meaning Liverpool appear to have negotiated a considerably lower upfront fee for the highly-rated winger.

Barcola’s arrival would be a major statement from Liverpool as they look to strengthen their attack following Mohamed Salah’s departure. Although the overall package would still make the Frenchman one of the club’s most expensive-ever signings, his pace, quality and potential make him a key target for the Reds.

For Liverpool, securing Barcola while also keeping Gakpo would be an ideal outcome. Gakpo has started the new campaign strongly and recently scored an impressive goal against Newcastle.

The Reds could still look to add another attacking player before the transfer window closes, but retaining Gakpo alongside Barcola would give Andoni Iraola considerably more options in the final third.

If Liverpool manage to complete the Barcola transfer and keep Gakpo at Anfield, it could prove to be a huge double boost for the club heading into the new season.
