Iraola was furious that the substitutions had not been completed before play restarted. Speaking after the match, he questioned why officials needed several minutes simply to prepare the substitution boards.
Liverpool eventually rescued a point when Víctor Muñoz scored in the 82nd minute, making it 2–2 on his full debut.
