Another Premier League Club Launches Late Hijack for Malick Fofana as Deadline-Day Drama Intensifies

Crystal Palace Make Late Move to Hijack Malick Fofana Transfer

Malick Fofana’s proposed move to Sunderland has been thrown into doubt after another Premier League club reportedly entered the race for the highly rated Lyon winger.

Sunderland had reached an agreement with Lyon on a deal worth close to £30 million for the 21-year-old and were preparing for him to complete his medical before signing a five-year contract.

However, Crystal Palace have now made a late attempt to hijack the transfer. Palace manager Pierre Sage is reportedly involved in talks with Fofana, having previously worked with the Belgian winger during his time at Lyon.

Fofana has attracted significant interest from several clubs this summer, with Arsenal also reportedly reaching an agreement on personal terms with the player.

The winger had previously rejected interest from newly promoted Hull City, reportedly because he preferred a club capable of offering European football.

With the transfer deadline approaching, Palace’s late intervention could completely change the situation and leave Sunderland facing a dramatic fight to secure Fofana’s signature.
