Liverpool Face Deadline-Day Battle for Crystal Palace Star Ismaïla Sarr
Liverpool could be set for a dramatic end to the transfer window as they continue their efforts to sign Crystal Palace winger Ismaïla Sarr.
The Reds are reportedly interested in adding more attacking quality to Andoni Iraola’s squad and, despite being close to completing a move for Bradley Barcola, they are still pursuing another major signing before the window closes.
According to reports from transfer journalist Santi Aouna, however, Liverpool’s attempt to land Sarr could turn into a difficult and tense negotiation.
Crystal Palace are said to be demanding around £75 million for the Senegal international. The London club are reportedly unhappy that Liverpool are attempting to sign one of their important players so late in the transfer window and are believed to be delaying negotiations in an effort to increase the transfer fee.
Sarr, meanwhile, is reportedly pushing for the move himself. The winger is said to have missed training as he attempts to put pressure on Palace and make his desire for a transfer clear.
The situation has now developed into a high-stakes battle between the two clubs. Palace must decide how long they are willing to hold out for their asking price, particularly with the possibility of keeping an unhappy player if the transfer collapses.
Liverpool, on the other hand, must determine how far they are prepared to go financially, knowing they could enter the rest of the season without another important attacking option if they fail to complete the deal.
With only a short time remaining before the transfer window shuts, the battle for Sarr could become one of Liverpool’s biggest deadline-day stories.
