Liverpool identify Newcastle defender as Virgil van Dijk replacement

According to reports, Liverpool are already planning for life after Virgil van Dijk and have identified Newcastle United centre-back Malick Thiaw as a potential long-term replacement.

The report claims Liverpool view the 24-year-old Germany international as one of their leading defensive targets and could consider a deal worth around £65–70 million.

Thiaw is highly rated for his physical strength, defensive ability and composure on the ball, qualities that Liverpool could be looking for as they prepare for the eventual end of Van Dijk’s time at Anfield.

Liverpool’s defensive planning has become particularly important as the club looks to build a new squad under Andoni Iraola. The Reds have already invested heavily in their squad, but defensive stability remains an area of concern.

If Liverpool really sign Malick Thiaw for £70m, would you support the move? YES or NO?
