Tottenham’s busy summer has taken an unexpected turn, with reports emerging that highly-rated young defender Luka Vuskovic is actively pushing for a move away from the club.
The news arrives at a critical moment for Spurs, who have been focused almost entirely on strengthening under Roberto De Zerbi. Three defensive signings have already been secured or agreed — Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Jan Paul van Hecke — while talks are progressing for Savinho and Sandro Tonali remains firmly in their sights.
Vuskovic Wants Out
According to journalist Alex Crook, the 19-year-old Croatian is eager to leave North London in search of consistent first-team football, unwilling to settle for another loan spell. Brighton have already made their interest concrete, tabling a £35 million bid that Spurs promptly rejected — though whether the Seagulls return with a sweetened offer remains to be seen.
Having just completed his loan stint at Hamburg, Vuskovic’s next move needs resolving quickly. The defensive reinforcements already arriving at Spurs have done little to ease his concerns about game time, and his discontent appears to be growing.
Spurs Hold All The Power
Despite the noise, Tottenham are under no pressure to sell. Vuskovic is contracted until 2030, giving the club full control over his future — whether that means another loan, first-team integration, or holding firm for a fee well in excess of Brighton’s opening offer.
Long regarded as one of the most exciting young defenders in European football, Vuskovic will not come cheap. Spurs know exactly what they have — and they will not be rushed into a decision.
