Manchester City winger Savinho has set tongues wagging over a potential switch to Tottenham Hotspur — and it all started with a social media like.
The Brazilian attacker, who was strongly linked with a move to North London back in January, stoked the transfer rumours further after briefly liking James Maddison’s Instagram post showing off Spurs’ new kit — before quietly removing the interaction.
Coincidence? Fans don’t think so.
Savinho currently follows Maddison on Instagram, though the Spurs midfielder is yet to follow back — a small detail that hasn’t escaped the attention of eagle-eyed supporters.
Spurs Growing in Confidence
It’s not just social media noise. Sources close to TEAMtalk have revealed that Tottenham are making genuine progress in their pursuit of the City wide man, with club officials increasingly confident a deal can be struck at a reasonable price.
Savinho was desperate to join Spurs in January, and crucially, his desire hasn’t cooled — even after Roberto De Zerbi replaced the previous manager at the helm. If anything, De Zerbi’s appointment has only added fuel to the fire, with his exciting brand of football drawing several top targets to N17 this summer.
Reports suggest a fee in the region of £50 million could be enough to prise Savinho away from the Etihad.
The Bigger Picture
Should the deal go through, Savinho would join a rapidly improving Spurs squad that already boasts new arrivals Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, and Jan Paul van Hecke — with Tottenham’s ambitious summer rebuild showing no signs of slowing down.
