Tottenham Hotspur are preparing one of the most ambitious transfer windows in the club’s recent history, with Roberto De Zerbi targeting multiple high-profile signings as he looks to build a squad capable of challenging at the top end of the Premier League next season.
Tonali Remains The Priority
Sandro Tonali is still firmly at the top of De Zerbi’s wishlist. The Newcastle United midfielder had another exceptional season on Tyneside, featuring in over 50 matches across all competitions and cementing his status as one of the finest all-round midfielders in the league.
Tottenham have already made their move, lodging an opening offer believed to be around £80 million — but Newcastle knocked it back without hesitation. Eddie Howe views Tonali as untouchable and the Magpies have slapped a valuation of well over £100 million on their midfield engine.
Despite the tough stance from Newcastle, Spurs remain confident that talks could progress as the window develops. Securing Tonali would be a statement signing of the highest order.
Savinho Links Reignited
Tottenham’s attacking ambitions are equally serious. One name that keeps cropping up is Manchester City winger Savinho. Spurs tried to land the Brazilian last summer but City shut the door immediately and handed him a new contract.
The picture has shifted significantly since then. With Savinho struggling for regular minutes at the Etihad last season, reports suggest the winger is now far more open to a move to North London — reigniting a transfer that once looked completely dead.
Marmoush And Gakpo Also In The Picture
According to Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, Tottenham are also plotting ambitious moves for Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush and Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo, with Spurs aiming to land at least one of the pair before the window closes.
Marmoush has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most explosive attacking threats — rapid, intelligent and equally dangerous through the middle or from wide. The Egyptian international would give De Zerbi exactly the kind of dynamic, flexible forward he craves.
Gakpo brings proven Premier League quality and impressive versatility. The Dutch forward can operate on the left, as a central striker or in a fluid attacking role. He contributed nine goals and six assists across 50+ appearances for Liverpool last season and carried that form into the World Cup, scoring twice against Uzbekistan before netting twice more in the Netherlands’ stunning 5-1 victory over Sweden.
The Price Tags Are Enormous
None of this will come cheap. Pedullà warns that valuations for both attackers are extremely high. Liverpool could reportedly consider bids of around £60 million for Gakpo, while Marmoush — who cost City approximately £68 million — is expected to command an even higher fee.
Add Tonali’s £100 million-plus price tag and Savinho’s valuation into the equation and Tottenham are looking at a truly eye-watering summer spend.
De Zerbi Means Business
Sporting director Johan Lange and chief executive Vinai Venkatesham are clearly determined to back their new manager with the firepower needed to transform Spurs after last season’s nightmare campaign.
If even two or three of these deals get over the line, Tottenham will be sending a crystal clear message to the rest of the Premier League — the sleeping giant is waking up. 💪🤍
