‘Chaos at Spurs’ – Tottenham supporters erupt as club activates transfer clause: ‘Absolutely dreadful’

Tottenham fans are growing increasingly angry with the club’s transfer approach this window as Thomas Frank’s difficulties in North London drag on.
The Spurs boss is under intense scrutiny at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after just 29 matches in charge, having won only 38 per cent of them, a run that leaves the club languishing in 13th place in the Premier League.

Most recently, Spurs were held to a 1-1 draw by Sunderland, with Brian Brobbey scoring a late equaliser in the 80th minute. However, the real setback from that game was the injury to Mohammed Kudus.

Tottenham could now be without their key man for several matches in the second half of the 2025–26 season, adding to an injury list that already includes Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison.

Supporters had already voiced their anger over Jamie Donley’s move to Oxford United, which includes a permanent option, and frustration has only intensified following the latest update on Alfie Dorrington.

Spurs have recalled the young defender just six months into his loan at Aberdeen, despite him making a number of appearances in the Scottish Premiership and gaining European experience.
Many fans are directing their fury at the club’s apparent lack of urgency in completing January signings.

One described Tottenham’s handling of loan deals as “truly woeful,” while others have highlighted what they see as the deeper issue: an overreliance on loans instead of strengthening the first team with proven reinforcements.

Aberdeen boss Jimmy Thelin has previously spoken highly of the 20-year-old centre-back and was keen to retain him for another season. Speaking in July, he praised Dorrington’s impact, his adaptation to the squad, and his desire to contribute, stressing the importance of squad depth across competitions.

With several Championship sides now monitoring Dorrington’s situation, Frank may benefit from heeding Thelin’s words and keeping the promising defender in North London rather than sending him straight back out.
