Liverpool have reportedly been stunned as Tottenham Hotspur enter the race for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, ready to make a major January offer.
The 19-year-old Ivorian has been on Liverpool’s radar for a summer move after impressing in the Bundesliga, but Spurs’ willingness to act immediately is said to have “shaken” the Anfield hierarchy. Leipzig reportedly value Diomande at around €100m (£87m), a figure that would signal Tottenham’s serious intent if met.
While Spurs have the financial flexibility under Profit and Sustainability Rules, it’s unclear whether they will match Leipzig’s valuation or spark a mid-season bidding war with Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are keeping tabs on Brentford right-back Michael Kayode, 20, alongside Newcastle’s Tino Livramento. Though a January move is unlikely due to Brentford’s push for a European spot, City continue to scout Kayode, who would command a significant fee.
With Tottenham aggressively pursuing Diomande and City monitoring Kayode, the January window is shaping up as another Premier League showdown over Europe’s most exciting young talent.
