Liverpool have stepped up their pursuit of Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh, submitting a second offer worth around £60 million. However, Brighton have rejected the proposal, with reports suggesting they value the 22-year-old at more than £70 million.
Minteh has reportedly agreed personal terms with Liverpool and is keen on a move to Anfield. Liverpool see him as a potential solution on the right wing following Mohamed Salah’s departure.
The Reds’ interest in Minteh is also understood to be separate from their pursuit of PSG winger Bradley Barcola. Barcola remains Liverpool’s primary target, meaning the club could potentially try to sign both players if negotiations progress.
Brighton’s position is currently firm, though. After rejecting Liverpool’s initial bid of around £50m, they have now turned down the improved £60m offer. Liverpool will therefore have to decide whether to increase their proposal further or move on to another attacking target.
With the transfer window approaching its final stages, Liverpool’s next move could be crucial as new head coach Andoni Iraola looks to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the new season.
