Tottenham are reportedly closing in on a sensational double deal with Manchester City for Omar Marmoush and Savinho, with the combined package expected to be worth around £140 million.
According to the report, Marmoush has agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with Spurs. The 27-year-old Egyptian forward is said to be excited about joining Tottenham and has reportedly been assured of an important role in Roberto De Zerbi’s attacking plans.
The two transfers are being negotiated simultaneously, with Savinho’s move reportedly already agreed and the remaining formalities expected to be completed soon. If the deals go through, Tottenham’s spending this summer could approach £400 million, highlighting the scale of De Zerbi’s rebuild.
The structure of the Marmoush transfer could also affect Eintracht Frankfurt, who reportedly retained a 15% sell-on clause when the striker left for Manchester City. The current arrangement could mean Frankfurt receive little or nothing from the resale because City may not make the required profit on Marmoush.
Marmoush’s potential arrival could also put Richarlison’s future at Tottenham in doubt. Everton are reportedly interested in bringing their former striker back, although any departure would depend on the clubs and player reaching an agreement.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are reportedly not finished with their attacking recruitment. The club could still pursue another major forward after completing the Manchester City double deal, while City would need to replace Marmoush and Savinho if both departures are finalised.
