Romano: Liverpool reach personal agreement with ‘unpredictable’ star who is ‘dreaming of a move’ to Anfield.

Liverpool Agree Personal Terms With Yankuba Minteh

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Liverpool have reached an agreement on personal terms with Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh as the Reds continue their search for a new right-sided attacker.

Liverpool have already had two offers rejected by Brighton, with the latest bid reportedly worth £60 million. Despite those setbacks, the Merseyside club remain interested in the 22-year-old as they look for a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Minteh is currently recovering from a leg injury suffered during Brighton’s pre-season victory over Roma and is expected to be unavailable for several weeks. However, his injury has not stopped Liverpool from exploring a potential deal.

Romano explained that Minteh is keen on the move and has already agreed personal terms with Liverpool. The major stumbling block is now negotiations between the two clubs over the transfer fee.

The journalist said Liverpool are looking to sign two wingers this summer, with Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola still their top priority. Minteh is viewed as another strong option, although he is not the only player on Liverpool’s shortlist.

Liverpool have reportedly offered £50m and £60m for the Gambian international, with both proposals turned down. Another bid could now be on the way as the Reds continue discussions with Brighton.

Minteh is believed to be particularly eager to join Liverpool, having admired African stars who have previously made their mark at Anfield, including Mohamed Salah and his idol Sadio Mané.

With the transfer window entering its final days, Liverpool’s pursuit of Minteh could suggest increasing urgency to strengthen the squad. The club will need to avoid overpaying, however, especially given that the winger has scored only nine goals in 66 Premier League appearances.

Brighton manager Fabian Hürzeler has previously praised Minteh’s unpredictable style in the final third, while Liverpool could see significant room for development under Andoni Iraola.

For now, Minteh appears to be a realistic alternative should Liverpool fail to land Barcola. Another offer is expected, and a fee in the region of £70m could potentially be enough to convince Brighton to allow the winger to make his dream move to Anfield.
