Liverpool Closing In on Major Bradley Barcola Transfer as PSG Hold Firm on £119.7m Valuation
Liverpool appear to be edging closer to completing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, with fresh reports from France suggesting negotiations are approaching a decisive stage.
According to L’Équipe journalist Loïc Tanzi, Barcola could become the most expensive Ligue 1 player ever to move to a foreign club. The 23-year-old is reportedly one of at least two attacking additions Liverpool are looking to make before the transfer window closes, although the club could potentially bring in another forward as well.
PSG Maintain Their Asking Price
Despite the growing confidence surrounding the transfer, PSG are not prepared to make negotiations straightforward. The French champions are currently standing firm on a valuation of around €140 million (£119.7m) for Barcola.
That figure represents a significant reduction from the much higher price reportedly discussed earlier in the summer, when PSG were believed to value the winger at approximately €170m (£145.3m).
The latest asking price also puts the potential transfer closer to the fees Manchester City and Chelsea have reportedly paid for Elliot Anderson and Morgan Rogers respectively.
While Liverpool still have financial work to do to complete the agreement, Barcola and those close to him are increasingly confident that he will eventually make the move to Anfield.
Liverpool Face a Race Against Time
With only around a week remaining in the transfer window, Liverpool are under considerable pressure to complete their business.
The club are believed to be close to securing Yankuba Minteh after making a third offer, while Barcola negotiations with PSG also appear to be approaching their final stages. Liverpool could therefore be looking at bringing in multiple attacking players before the deadline.
However, the club may still need another centre-forward to complete their desired attacking rebuild and give manager Andoni Iraola enough options in the final third.
There are also concerns about other areas of the squad. Liverpool could still use reinforcements in central midfield and at right-back, particularly with Jeremie Frimpong currently the only senior natural option available on the right side of defence.
The midfield situation appears to be something Iraola believes he can manage with the players already available, but the lack of depth at right-back remains a concern.
Ultimately, Liverpool could find themselves short in certain positions during at least the opening half of the 2026/27 campaign unless further additions are made before the transfer window shuts.
